Our children’s programs are located in a cottage behind the main church building.
A fun and brightly colored painted pathway leads the children from church to the Children’s House.
Parents are welcome to accompany their kids down to the Children’s House after the blessing of the
children at the beginning of the service in the sanctuary.
NURSERY
– children under age three are provided with loving child care in the Children’s
House. Age appropriate toys and activities are abundant, as we play uplifting and fun spiritual songs in
the background. Snack and a drink are provided. Our emphasis in this class is for the children to begin
to understand that God creates everything and is present in all things.
UNITOTS & UNIKIDS
– children age three to ten are provided spiritual education in the Children’s House.
A typical Sunday lesson in each classroom may include:
- JOB CARDS – Upon entering the house, children choose a job card. All children are valued members
of our ministry and contribute to its success each Sunday.
- SACRED CIRCLE – This is a time of ritual that begins our Sundays. The children gather in a circle
for centering breath, prayer, affirmation and song or music, as provided by our Youth Music Ministry.
- LESSON – The lesson for the day is introduced and reinforced through different learning styles
using the following methods: stories, activities, games, media, music, gardening, drama, cooking, being
outdoors, and crafts. Our lessons invite children to explore how they can let God live through them as an
expression of life, love and kindness.
- MEDITATION – Children participate in one of various styles of age-appropriate meditation
when the lesson is complete.
- SNACK TIME & PRAYER REQUESTS – As snacks and a drink are passed out, children are invited to
fill out prayer requests in the Prayer Corner.
- PARENT PICK-UP – Parents are asked to pick up their children from the Children’s House
immediately following the service.
